My Holster Won't Retain Firearm

If your holster won't retain the firearm we generally find it is due to one of two scenarios:

You have the wrong holster for your firearm:

Make sure your received the correct holster for firearm. On the inside of the sweat guard the model name is written, check that against your firearm. The holster should follow the shape and lines of the firearm very closely, it is made to form fit. If you aren't sure, you can always use the contact form below and our team can help you make sure you have the right fit.

The firearm is not fully seated in the holster.

Our holsters utilize a retention detent to retain your firearm, its a little bump in the trigger guard area:

If the trigger guard on you firearm is not pushed past this detent, it will not retain the firearm. Look at the underside of your holster. The trigger guard should be seated all the way. The holster will tightly follow the lines of the firearm, with a minimal gap for the mag release. If you holster looks like the third picture, you have not pushed your firearm far enough into the holster.

*** PLEASE NOTE: If you have tightened your retention before the fully seating the firearm you may need to loosen your retention now to get it to seat, as you may have tightened too much. Please see the Setting Your Retention Video above.
