    My 2nd CYA holster

    I'm actually not entirely thrilled with this holster for one reason only. About a year ago I bought the CYA Ridge IWB for the Taurus GX4XL and I have absolutely loved the holster. Fit, clips, size, concealability all excellent. Very comfortable and holds the pistol perfectly. This last purchase about 2-3 weeks ago I decided to purchase the HK CC9 Ridge IWB Holster and ordered it. This holster however is uncomfortable in comparison. I'm curious why it is squared off at the underside of the barrel whereas the same model for the GX4XL is angled? The squared off area on the CC9 Holster jabs me when I sit down while the GX4XL Holster does not due to the shape. The GX4XL is a bigger pistol than the CC9 so I'm curious why the CC9 Holster is squared off. I've attached a photo of both, the GX4XL above the CC9 and you can see the difference in shape. That shape makes all the difference in comfort for me. Otherwise I am super satisfied with your Kydex Holsters in every other way. I bought the CC9 as an upgrade to the Taurus and plan to make it my every day carry but find myself taking the Taurus simply because the holster is far more comfortable to wear. Thank you.

    Hi John,
    I get where you're coming from. The problem lies in that the claw placement dictates the bottom cut of the holster. The muzzle on the GX4XL is further down than the CC9 in relation to the belt where the claw must interface to be effective. This allowed us to angle the cut on the GX4XL, something we weren't able to do on the GX4 for a good analog. Now in full transparency, the CC9 was made with updated guidelines for the purchase area which moved the claw slightly further down which exacerbated the issue slightly, something we have addressed in the design guidelines already, but it does not do enough to have that bottom not be squared off on the CC9. I have some possible solution in mind and will be addressing it. Again, thank you for your feedback, it helps me continuously improve our designs.

    On Target...

    To be honest I had expected the holster to be a generic fit just like so many holsters out there. You know the kind... one model fits many type of thing.

    Not the case here, the fit, function and finish is exact! My only issue is that an OWB was not available for my pistol.
